I've been doing a bit this and that. I quess this approach suits me best.  If I do everything myself anyway, it doesn't really matter how organized I am. The main thing is to enjoy it and keep progressing.  It gives me great pleasure to learn and get a hold of new skills.
There's a lot of fabrication you would never even think of,  when watching at any finished car -  yet these small things like take a lot of time. Like here, fabricating new brackets with studs and spot welding them on the backside of upper grille bar. What were Buick engineers thinking of  when they spot welded mild steel and stainless together?

Since I want to drive my car on highway, I will swap the original 4.10 gears to 3.40 gears. This 3.42 gearset from a 54-55 Buick came from Wheatbelt Antique Auto. Thanks all you guys who consulted me on the aaca.org Buick forum

I really had to take a peek under the valve cover. Oh man, like looking inside an asphalt machine. They didn't use detergents in oils those days. So I had to pull the head also and measure the cylinders. Chances are that it will see a throrough rebuild, not just hone & rings. Nowadays 90 k-miles wouldn't be considered much...
