The Most Beautiful Custom Car Ever!

If I had to pick the most beautiful custom car ever, it would - without doubt - be this '41 Buick, once known as the Herb Ogden Buick and partly built by Barris in the mid-fifties. The 3-1/2" chopped and padded top was fabricated at Gaylord's.
The car has since been restored and now belongs to Kurt McCormick's collection

Don't get me wrong, I have no bias towards Buicks, and I absolutely love '49-'51 Mercury customs. But there's not a single thing I would change in this car. The body lines are so graceful and perfectly proportioned. In it's 1950's outfit, it featured stainless gravel shields on rear fenders, but no skirts, which definitely improve the car's current appearance. I think the front bumper guards are a later addition, too.

HI,  JYRKI--
THIS NOTE IS TO THANK YOU FOR YOUR KIND WORDS ABOUT OUR '41 BUICK.  IT IS BUILT FROM A REAL ROADMASTER CONVERTIBLE.  DAVE DARBY TOOK SOME EXCELLENT PICTURES OF IT AS YOU SAW,  BUT THE CAR REALLY IS AS BIG AND LONG AS IT APPEARS,  A FULL 18 FEET. IT HAS A '51 CADILLAC ENGINE AND HYDRO,  AND A 9" FORD REAR END.  IT IS MY FAVORITE OF THE CARS WE HAVE AND WE ARE GLAD THAT YOU LIKE IT ALSO.  I HAVE ATTACHED A COUPLE PHOTOS FOR YOU,  AND THANKS AGAIN
Well thank YOU - the pleasure is all mine !
