X-Treme Car Show, October 3-4, 2009
I took the Buick to my first show, the X-treme car Show, on October 3-4, 2009. This show concentrates on "tuning" cars, but has a section for rods and customs, too. And this time the quality of rods and customs was exceptionally high! I also had a chance to talk to Duane Mayer & Bernt Karlsson of American Hot Rods (formerly Boyd's)
The main car shows, American Car Show in Helsinki, and Hot Rod & Rock Show in Tampere, both take place in the springtime, March-April, so this show, being the only show in fall, has as advantage.
Now for the first time, all the good stuff were finally installed. Note the "dagmar" bumper guards, and Comet Skyshield sunvisor.
The '52 Buick on the left, built by Petri Terho, won the "best custom" award. Unfortunately I don't have a better picture of it - my idea was to take a pic when the passenger door would be shut, but it stayed open throughout the show.
Between the cars I had a TV and and a video of my Buick. The video was made by Masterius Oy, and it was a preliminary version. We spent one long day shooting it, and several days editing. The idea was to pass the engine sounds, inside views, details, and build specs to the audience.
I'll have to get the final edition packed small enough to run on the web.
This contemporary custom is built and owned by PG Tälth from Sweden, and is called "Evita", a 1946 export Buick, found from South America.
PG told me he's got over 35,000 kilometers on the odometer since the car was finished back in 2006.
This chopped '48 Cadillac comes from Finland and is owned by Esa Mikkonen.

This radical '31 Tudor belongs to my pal Warre. We had to use a lot of creativity to get him a permission to install a SB Chevy in place of the four banger.
It was Warre who inspired me to fabricate disc brake adapters for my Buick
My Buick won a
"Top Ten" award.
I'm third from the right, just behind Duane and the host.
